Helping developers around the world choose the right package for their projects using the power of data
Delphy is the outcome of our regular brainstorms on problems faced by developers around the world in choosing the correct package for their respective projects.
We started back in April 2021 to develop a platform for other developers to choose the right package for their projects using the power of data from various platforms.
For the first 6 months, we spent most of the time planning, researching, and building simple POCs. Over the next 6 months, we worked hard on building the first version of the application. Finally, on 1st May, we released the first version of this application with limited functionality.
What is Delphy
Delphy is a one-stop web application that provides easy access to information, stats, user-generated reviews, and more on packages provided by leading package repositories like NPM.
Delphy collects basic information of packages like name, description, repository link, download stats, etc, repository information, like the number of stars, number of PRs, commits, etc, and a bunch of other information from various sources like NPM, GitHub, BundlePhobia, etc and finally, render it in an intelligently designed, and highly interactive dashboard.
Furthermore, on Delphy, users can review and rate packages based on their experience.
Delphy uses different third-party platforms to collect data. Most of these platforms provide this data absolutely for free. Without these platforms, we cannot make Delphy. Delphy is thankful to all these platforms for providing the data.
Here is a list of platforms, Delphy uses in some ways.
Below are the deployed versions of Delphy.
- Deployed Neutron (backend server for Delphy): v0.8.0
- Deployed Electron (frontend server for Delphy): v0.8.0
Delphy is under heavy development. If you want to check the project roadmap and status, click here.
